Jennine Cabanellas, M.D., F.A.A.O. is a Fellowship-trained, Board Certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in Comprehensive Ophthalmology. With 25+ years of experience, she is committed to providing the highest quality of medical, surgical, and laser management of ocular diseases. She is beloved by her patients for her willingness to listen, her focus on patient’s needs, and her easy way of explaining step by step patient’s diagnosis, treatments, goals, and what patients should expect.

Being an Ivy-League trained physician, Dr. Cabanellas obtained her Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, her alma mater. She spent two years at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she found her love for medicine and decided to change to medical school. Dr. Cabanellas graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. She then completed her Ophthalmology Residency at Columbia University Harkness Eye Institute. Dello Russo Laser Vision Correction Centers awarded her a one year Fellowship in Lasik & Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Cabanellas is proud to be a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is an active member of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Palm Beach County Ophthalmological Society.

Bringing sight back to those in need, Dr. Cabanellas volunteered on a medical mission to restore vision through cataract surgery to people in rural areas of the Philippines. This was an unforgettable experience for those patients, but life changing to the doctors in that mission!

Dr. Cabanellas is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico and has been part of the South Florida community since 2001. She enjoys farm life in Wellington, Palm Beach, with her husband, two children, and the “always ready to go” Jack Russell Terrier, Pixel.
